What are eyelash extensions?Eyelash extensions are synthetic eyelashes that are applied to your natural eyelashes either in a single fashion, one extension per one natural lash, or volume which is the application of multiple thinner lashes per one natural lash. Extensions are attached using a medical grade adhesive.

Are eyelash extensions harmful to my natural lashes?When applied correctly eyelash extensions are not harmful to your natural lashes. At the Art of Lashes our clients are our priority and we would never put your natural lashes at risk. Kind of extension, thickness and length will be recommended by our highly trained staff at the time of your appointment to avoid premature lash fall out. Recommended length is 30% longer than your natural lashes.

How do I know which set to pick?The results may very depending on how strong/full your natural lashes are. If you have thin natural lashes we recommend going one/two sets higher. NATURAL- about 70% natural lashes filled using single extensions (70% fullness) GLAMOUR- about 90-100% natural lashes filled using single extensions (90% fullness ) HYBRID- 50% natural lashes filled with single extensions and 50% with volume extensions (150-200% fullness) VOLUME- 100% natural lashes filled using 4-9D volume extensions (200-300% fullness) HOLLYWOOD- 100% natural lashes filled using 9-16D volume extensions (300-500% fullness ) All sets come with a complimentary 15 min follow up appointment within one week of your full set. If you are not sure which set to pick you can start with a less full set and always upgrade to a fuller set. Consultation is always complementary, recommended if you are new to extensions or had lashes done at a different salon. Visit our gallery for pictures and more information about sets. Length of the extensions will be recommended by your artist depending on the strength of your natural lashes. You always can decide to go longer however this may affect the retention or artist will have to use a thinner extension which may sacrifice the fullness .

How often do I need to get a fill?Eyelash extensions last up to 7 weeks. A fill is recommended every 2-3 weeks. Following our aftercare instructions is highly recommended and will improve lash retention.

Can I wet my extensions?Yes. You can wet your extensions but water must be avoided for the first 24 hours to allow the adhesive to bond properly. After the first 24h we recommend washing your lashes with our LASHAMPOO to remove excess oil or makeup and improve retention.

Can I apply mascara to my lash extensions?Yes, but it is not recommended. If you must, then choose a mascara for eyelash extensions and be gentle when removing because you can pull off your extensions. Eyelash extensions are meant to substitute the daily application of eye makeup. Make sure you discuss the desired look with your stylist so it can be achieved without mascara application. Mascara can be used ONLY ON CLASSIC EXTENSIONS not on VOLUME EXTENSIONS because it will close up a volume fan made out of few thin lashes. Please remember, you CAN NOT come to your appointment with mascara on. If you do come with mascara on, any time lost removing it by you or the artist will take away from the time of your appointment. Any mascara left on the lashes affects the adhesion of new extensions.

What if I got an allergy to the eyelash extensions?If you see any signs of allergic reaction contact us immediately. You will then be scheduled for a follow up and lashes will be removed if needed. There are risks associated with having artificial eyelashes applied to and/or removed from natural eyelashes even when properly applied. In the rare case of an allergic reaction refunds will not be given as the service was already provided. If the lashes need to be removed, The Art of Lashes will remove them free of charge as a courtesy to our clients. In the event that you feel like you need to visit a physician, The Art of Lashes will not be responsible for that cost or any associated costs.

What if I can not stay still for the time of the appointment?Coming in for your appointment you should be aware that you will be asked to stay still for 1-2h. If you need to leave before the end of your appointment, unfortunately we can not refund or discount the appointment because the time was already booked. We highly recommend that you not have any drinks containing caffeine before your appointment as it may cause discomfort.

What if I can not make my appointment?If you can not make your appointment we require a 24-48 hour notice in advance to cancel or reschedule the appointment free of charge. For cancellations and reschedules within 24 hours a 100% service charge will apply. For no shows, 100% service charge will apply. If you are late more than 15 min to your appointment we will try calling, to see if you are on your way. If we don not hear back from you NO SHOW fee will be applied. If your card is declined you will not be allowed to book any future services. Booking at the salons requires $25 non-refundable deposit.

Should I tip my artist?Tips are not included in our pricing and are at your discretion. Average of 15-20% is recommended depending on your experience.

Online booking
Please, follow instructions at theartoflashes.setmore.com. When booking online you will receive an email confirmation. If you did not receive an email it means that the booking was not complete.
When booking at the salon we go through the same online booking system. You will receive an email confirmation at the time of booking, and 24h before your appointment. A text reminder is also sent 24hrs before if a valid cellphone number is provided. If you did not receive an email confirmation it means that the booking was not complete.
Our staff is not liable for any appointment discrepancy, unless email proof is provided.
